Seiko SPT 510-35PL – High-Performance Industrial Printhead
Seiko SPT 510-35PL

The Seiko SPT 510-35PL is a widely used, high-performance industrial piezoelectric printhead known for its stable operation. It features a 72 mm print width, 180 dpi physical resolution, and a 35 picoliter droplet size. With its self-circulating design, it remains one of the most popular heads in advertising graphics and label printing.
Core Advantages
Wide Printing Width + Stable Resolution
With 510 nozzles arranged in 6 rows, the effective print width reaches 71.8 mm at 180 dpi, meeting the needs of outdoor advertising, car wraps, and lightbox printing.
Stable Ink Circuit + Internal Recirculation Design
The internal ink recirculation structure ensures stable ink flow, prevents sedimentation, and maintains consistent color output and long-term reliability.
35 PL Droplet Size – Ideal for Practical Applications
The 35 picoliter droplet size makes it suitable for applications requiring both speed and cost-efficiency, balancing print precision and productivity.
Compatible with Multiple Industrial Inks
Supports solvent, eco-solvent, and UV inks, making it highly adaptable for different machines and materials.
Proven Reliability and Broad Usage
After over a decade of market testing, the SPT510-35PL remains a dependable choice in large-format printing systems, with stable print performance and easy maintenance.
Main Drawbacks
Compared to higher-end models such as Ricoh Gen5 or Toshiba CF3R, its print detail and gradient performance are slightly inferior.
The droplet size is relatively large, making it unsuitable for high-definition fine art or photo printing.
Firing frequency: 8.29 kHz — sufficient for general signage but lower than high-speed heads (e.g., 1024 or G6).
It does not support grayscale control — only a single droplet size.
Usage Recommendations
It is recommended to use original compatible solvent or UV inks to prevent ink impurities from clogging the nozzles.
Regularly maintain the ink supply lines and filters to extend printhead lifespan.
When installing, ensure vibration resistance and ink supply system stability; it is recommended to use a stable positive/negative pressure ink supply.
Application Scenarios
Outdoor advertising printing;
Vehicle wraps, lightbox film, PP paper;
Label and packaging printing;
Industrial marking systems (using UV, oil-based, or solvent inks);
Single or dual-color printing systems for wide-format production.
