Toshiba CF3R Printhead | High-Precision UV Industrial Printing
Toshiba CF3R Printhead

The Toshiba CF3R printhead is the flagship model in the CF3 series, featuring a water-cooling structure and a full-channel high-flow internal circulation design. It is specially designed for high-viscosity and high-pigment inks such as UV white ink, ceramic ink, and glass ink. With its high-precision jetting performance, durable and stable construction, and flexible configuration options, the CF3R is widely used in industrial-grade label printing, packaging, and decorative material applications.
Technical Specs

Key Advantages
High-Stability Ink Supply System
Equipped with a high-flow internal circulation structure, the CF3R ensures continuous ink flow across the nozzle plate, effectively preventing pigment sedimentation and clogging. This reduces cleaning frequency and extends printhead lifespan. Its water-cooling module combined with a built-in temperature sensor enables closed-loop temperature control, ensuring stable jetting performance even under long-term, high-load operations.
High-Speed and Precise Jetting Performance
Supports a maximum jetting frequency of 9.2 kHz, with ink droplet velocity reaching 10 m/s and a landing accuracy error of just 1.3 mrad. The nozzles support a droplet range of 3–20 pl with 6-level grayscale control, meeting the requirements for high-resolution images, fine art printing, and other premium outputs.
Refined Mechanical Design and Waveform Fine-Tuning
Manufactured with high-precision micro-machining, the printhead ensures more accurate stitching, significantly reducing issues such as banding, misalignment, and density variations. It also supports fine-tuning of individual nozzle waveforms, improving image consistency, achieving smoother color gradients, and delivering seamless print effects.
Flexible Dual-Color Configuration & Compact Design
The CF3R can be configured for dual-color (2×639 nozzles, 300 NPI) or single-color (1278 nozzles, 600 NPI) printing modes, covering a wide range of applications. With its compact size (96.7×31.3×100.7mm, 285g), it can be easily integrated into various UV flatbed, roll-to-roll, and hybrid platforms.
Limitations
Higher Cost: As an industrial-grade printhead, the CF3R involves higher initial investment, making it less suitable for small businesses or entry-level users with limited budgets.
Requires Dedicated Driver Boards: Must be paired with official Toshiba or compatible driver boards, increasing system integration complexity and requiring strong technical expertise.
Challenging Installation & Maintenance: Although compact, it requires precise head alignment and temperature management during installation. Its delicate internal structure makes post-failure repair and replacement costly, and generally unsuitable for non-professionals to handle.
Application Scenarios
UV Flatbed / Roll-to-Roll Printing: Acrylic, PVC, metal panels, leather, glass, tiles, and more.
Industrial Labels & Packaging Printing: High-resolution QR codes, barcodes, and product packaging.
Ceramics / Glass / Building Materials: UV ceramic printing, decorative glass, and eco-friendly ink systems.
Usage Tips
Strongly recommended to use with high-stability UV inks or original certified inks.
Maintain ink supply pressure, negative pressure, and circulation speed within proper ranges.
If idle for more than 12 hours, perform capping or flushing to prevent ink curing.
Recommended to use with a cooling system (the CF3R comes with a built-in water-cooling structure) to ensure stable operation during long-term continuous printing.
